Director of Finance (Finances & Resources)

The focus of this role is to develop and lead the vision for the Finance Division and to be accountable for delivering on council plans by taking a lead role in robust decision making through the promotion of good governance. The role holder will provide inspirational leadership for the finance function, driving customer focused service delivery and embedding a culture of change and continuous improvement in line with CIPFA best practice. Best value’ will be at the heart of their work. The role will act as the council’s professional finance lead, including the statutory Deputy 151 Officer, on all appropriate financial matters. It will provide high levels of support and challenge to senior leaders and councillors, ensuring the council makes sound financial decisions which safeguard public money and maintain financial stability.

Director of Housing (Growth & City Development)

This role will provide strategic leadership, direction, strong management and decision making for our new Housing Division. The role includes the strategic oversight of Nottingham City Homes, the council’s ALMO, which transfers back to Nottingham City Council from April 2023. The role holder will create and drive the strategic vision for housing in Nottingham. They will have the overall strategic lead in all matters relating to the council’s strategic and operational housing activities including homelessness and housing options, private sector housing, housing service delivery for council houses and disabled adaptations.

Head of Commercial Oversight & Governance (Finance & Resources)

This role will be accountable for delivering on council plans and will take a lead role in robust decision making through the promotion of good governance, policy review and effective options appraisals which balance financial risk with organisational ambitions and promises.  The role holder will be responsible for the council’s Commercial Strategy, encompassing Delivery Model Assessment, Strategic Contract Management and Company Governance. They will specifically ensure high levels of performance within and across Commercial and Procurement services to enable and support forward thinking and innovative frontline service delivery, informed by customer and community engagement, across the council and with partners.

Head of Development Management (Growth & City Development)

This role will lead Nottingham’s ‘place making’ service. It  will have a key role in leading the management of the council’s planning function and lead the delivery of development plans to support our reimagination of Nottingham’s communities and city-centre. It will lead and improve the delivery of a quality, integrated, customer orientated planning and place-making service to support the delivery of our city’s ambitions, securing sustainable development and creating high-quality public places in line with corporate and national objectives, policies, procedures, and targets.

Head of Property (Growth & City Development)

This role will provide strategic and service leadership to the council’s Property Service. We are transforming our Property Services through the introduction of a best practice “Corporate Landlord” model drawing together strategic and transactional property activities, hard and soft facilities management and the management of operational buildings. The role holder will play a critical role in the successful implementation and ongoing delivery of that model, ensuring high levels of performance within the service to enable and support forward thinking and innovative frontline service delivery. This is an exciting post with responsibility and accountability for Strategic Asset Management, Commercial Property and Asset Management, Disposals and Development, Business Centres, and Estates Billing.

Head of Business & Performance (People)

This new role operates at the heart of our People’s Directorate working to the Corporate Director to support these vital services.  The role is crucial in providing assurance to the Corporate Director and will work closely with the five Directors of Adult Social Care & Health, Children’s Integrated Services, Education, Public Health and Commissioning & Partnerships. The role holder will be central to developing the wider strategy and vision for the Directorate, developing robust performance frameworks that have risk and finance at the heart and developing a high-performing business hub. You will need to be able to work effectively across a range of services and provide high levels of challenge and support to the Directorate.

Head of Commissioning (People)

This new role leads our significant investment in our commissioning function and will work across Children’s Integrated Services and Adult Health & Social Care to get the best outcomes for our people, demonstrating best value for our city. The role will have a key focus working across the wider health and social care system to deliver positive outcomes and integration across partnerships for Nottingham’s people. The postholder will lead a programme of outcomes-focused commissioning, working within partnerships including our Nottingham Place-Based Partnership and our regional partners.

Head of Business Development, Strategy and Performance (People)

This new role, initially for a fixed term of 2 years and will report to the Director for Adult Health & Social Care working closely with the rest of the Adults Leadership Team, councillors, officers and partners. The post holder will lead on the development and implementation of the national Adult Social Care reforms agenda and systems development, act as the interface between practice and systems and champion a wider understanding of systems, processes and data by senior leaders and front-line practitioners.
